Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 6, 2026. This policy describes how Starlight Studio (“we,” “our,” or “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you interact with our website at starlightstudio.live, contact us about candle making workshops, or attend in-person sessions at our West Hollywood address.
Who we are
Starlight Studio operates small-group candle making workshops and publishes practical guides. Our studio address is 9000 Sunset Blvd, West Hollywood, CA 90069, USA. For privacy questions you may email hello@starlightstudio.live or call +1 310 274 8866.
Information we may collect
We do not run user accounts on this website. The main categories of information we handle come from direct communication:
- Contact details you send us. When you email or call to inquire about a class, we receive your email address, phone number if you provide it, your name as you choose to sign it, and the content of your message (including preferred dates and class names).
- Phone call metadata. If you call, we may see your caller number on our handset or carrier logs unless you block it. We do not record calls for training unless we have told you otherwise in that conversation and you agree.
- Workshop attendance. For in-person sessions we may keep a simple attendance list with names you gave at booking, for safety headcount and for follow-up if something is left behind in the studio.
- Technical data from hosting. Our web host may automatically log standard server information such as IP address, browser type, time of request, and page requested. We use that information only for security and troubleshooting, not for profiling.
How we use information
We use contact and booking-related information to respond to inquiries, confirm schedules, send reminders when we have agreed to do so, and organize workshop groups. We do not sell personal information. We do not use your details for automated decision-making that affects your legal rights.
If you join a public waitlist for a sold-out session, we use your contact information only to notify you about openings for that session or closely related dates, and you may ask us to remove you at any time.
Legal bases (for visitors from regions with similar concepts)
Where applicable, we rely on performance of a contract when you book a paid workshop, on legitimate interests in operating a safe studio and replying to messages, and on consent when you ask to receive optional updates beyond what is needed for your booking.
Retention
We keep email correspondence related to bookings for up to twenty-four months after your last class or last message, unless a longer period is required for tax, accounting, or dispute resolution. Server logs, if retained by the host, are typically rotated on a shorter cycle; we do not use them for marketing.
Sharing of information
We may share limited information with service providers who help us operate the business, such as email delivery, website hosting, or payment partners if you pay in a way that involves them. Those providers are instructed to use data only to perform services for us. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of participants.
International visitors
Our studio and primary operations are in the United States. If you contact us from another country, your information may be processed in the United States where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information, or to object to certain uses. To exercise these rights, email hello@starlightstudio.live. We will verify reasonable requests and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.
Children
Our workshops are intended for adults and teenagers attending with a guardian when permitted. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under thirteen through the website. If you believe we have received such information, contact us and we will delete it.
Refund and cancellation policy for workshops
If you need to cancel a reserved workshop seat, you may request a refund of any prepaid studio fee if you notify us at least forty-eight hours before the scheduled start time. Cancellations with less than forty-eight hours’ notice may not be refundable, except where we cancel the session from our side or where local law requires otherwise. If we cancel due to instructor illness or unsafe conditions, we offer rescheduling first; if rescheduling does not work for you, we refund any amount you prepaid for that specific session. Processing times for refunds depend on your payment method and may take several business days after approval.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of a small studio. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure; we encourage you not to send sensitive information by email beyond what is needed to arrange a class.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you acknowledge the revised policy.
